Our Client is a modern technology company that operates a specialised, product-driven marketplace within the global IT infrastructure sector. Unlike an agency or software house, they focus on building a proprietary platform that bridges the gap between buyers and complex infrastructure service providers, covering areas such as cloud services, network solutions, and high-scale compute resources (CPU/GPU).
As a key player in the infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) ecosystem, our client facilitates frictionless transactions and discovery for large-scale technical services. The engineering culture is rooted in pragmatism, high autonomy, and direct impact. You will join a senior-level team where the focus is on building scalable, modern backend services from the ground up, free from the constraints of legacy monoliths or rigid corporate ceremonies.
Working Model: 1–2 days per week in the Warsaw office (Flexible)
Working Hours: Polish (CET) time zone with rare afternoon overlap for US collaboration
Resposibilities
As a Senior / Staff Backend Engineer, you will take high-level technical ownership of services that power the core marketplace and service provider integrations. Your role will involve:
System Architecture & Scaling: Designing and implementing robust, distributed backend services with a focus on high throughput, low latency, and cost efficiency.
Integration Leadership: Leading the technical execution of onboarding new service provider groups into the platform’s ecosystem.
Product Collaboration: Partnering closely with Engineering and Product leadership to translate complex marketplace requirements into production-ready technical solutions.
Code Excellence: Writing well-structured, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage to ensure long-term system reliability.
Strategic Optimisation: Proactively identifying and mitigating risks related to performance and scalability before they impact the business.
Mentorship: Elevating the team’s technical standards through insightful code reviews, knowledge sharing, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
Iterative Development: Rapidly validating new ideas and iterating on features based on direct user feedback and real-world usage.
Requirments
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
Professional Experience: At least 7 years in backend development, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on production experience using Go (Golang).
Cloud Proficiency: Proven track record of deploying and operating scalable services within major cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar).
Data Management: Strong experience working with relational databases (Postgres) and in-memory stores (Redis).
Communication: Fluent in both Polish and English, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both local and US-based stakeholders.
Workflow Tools: Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for effective project management.
Nice-to-Have: * Experience with marketplace or transaction-heavy systems.
Exposure to AI-enabled backend systems (LLMs, multi-agent workflows, prompt engineering).
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure or networking domains.
