Our Client is a prominent Central and Eastern European technology leader specialising in delivering advanced, mission-critical software solutions for some of the world's most distinguished organisations. With a history spanning over 25 years and a robust team of 600+ top-tier software engineers and computer scientists across multiple European delivery centres, they are dedicated to driving digital transformation and innovation.

The company operates at the forefront of technology, with deep domain expertise in industries such as Automotive, Aerospace & Defence, Financial Services, and Telecommunications. Their service portfolio encompasses Cloud Development & Operations, Application Engineering, Data Streaming & Analysis, and Artificial Intelligence. They are renowned for engineering excellence and a commitment to quality, holding prestigious certifications (including NATO AQAP and TISAX).

This specific role focuses on a strategic internal project centred around developing a cutting-edge cloud-native Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering. You will be instrumental in building the core infrastructure automation layer, contributing to a high-impact product that supports sophisticated deployments for major international clients. We are looking for a Senior Golang Engineer to join this dedicated team and help shape the future of cloud orchestration.

Resposibilities

As a Senior Golang Engineer, your primary focus will be on building highly scalable, automated cloud infrastructure components. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Cloud-Native Development: Design, develop, and optimise high-performance, containerised microservices and backend systems using Golang to power the core PaaS solution.

  • Kubernetes Orchestration: Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated Kubernetes Operators, Drivers, and Controllers to automate complex deployment, lifecycle management, and operational workflows within the cloud environment.

  • Infrastructure Interfacing: Integrate seamlessly with cloud infrastructure by leveraging the OpenStack-like SDK for Golang (Gophercloud or similar) to manage resources and ensure multi-platform compatibility.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate effectively with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Product teams to define clean APIs, establish robust backend architectures, and implement scalable cloud solutions.

  • Technical Leadership & Quality Assurance: Drive and participate in regular code reviews, define best practices, and enforce high standards for code maintainability, performance, testing, and comprehensive documentation.

  • Innovation and Strategy: Research and propose the adoption of new tools and trends within the Kubernetes and Cloud-Native ecosystem, actively contributing to the refinement of the team's technical roadmap and architectural standards.

Requirments

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and autonomous engineer with a profound understanding of cloud orchestration and infrastructure automation.

  • Golang Expertise: Extensive professional experience in developing production-grade, highly available applications using Golang in a cloud-native context.

  • Kubernetes Internals: Deep, hands-on experience in building and managing custom Kubernetes Operators, Controllers, and Drivers (e.g., using Kubebuilder, Operator Framework).

  • Cloud Fundamentals: A strong working knowledge of fundamental container orchestration concepts, including networking, service mesh, load balancing, and effective resource monitoring.

  • CI/CD and Observability: Practical experience implementing and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines and proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

  • Development Methodology: Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and a proactive, collaborative approach to team-based software development.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Prior experience with the OpenStack SDK for Golang (Gophercloud).

  • Familiarity with container image and application packaging tools like Helm or Kustomize.

  • Working knowledge of other cloud platforms, such as OpenShift.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform.
