We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our client's M4I Backup Planning Application Management team. This role focuses on implementing ITIL service management practices to ensure the efficient and effective management of critical IT applications.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be instrumental in managing various aspects of the application lifecycle. Your tasks will include

• Incident Management: Taking ownership of incident and defect resolution, ensuring prompt and effective troubleshooting, and conducting thorough root cause analyses.

•  Change Management: Facilitating the implementation and support of changes to IT applications, adhering to defined change management processes.

• Service Request Management: Handling and processing service requests related to IT applications, including initial assessment and execution.

• Configuration Management: Maintaining accurate and complete configuration data within designated management tools.

• Patch and Vulnerability Management: Implementing security updates and patches, and identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities across the IT infrastructure.

• Contract Management: Overseeing and monitoring relevant IT application contracts, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

• License Management: Managing software licenses to ensure compliance and optimise cost-effectiveness. 

• Audit Support: Preparing and maintaining necessary documentation and evidence for internal and external audits.

• Monitoring: Continuously monitoring IT applications to ensure system stability and optimal performance.

• Data Protection and Security: Coordinating and ensuring adherence to data protection and security requirements in line with legal and internal policies.

• Technical Consultation: Providing technical guidance to business stakeholders on the enhancement and optimization of IT applications.

 

Requirements:

• Tool Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with standard collaboration and ITSM tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and M365 solutions.

• ITIL Frameworks: Proven understanding and application of ITIL frameworks, ideally demonstrated through an ITIL 3 or 4 Foundation certification and relevant project references for IT lifecycle management.

• Risk Analysis: Approximately 5 years of experience in conducting risk analyses and assessments within application management, verifiable through project references or task descriptions.

• Process & Security Implementation: Extensive practical experience in introducing and optimising processes for vulnerability and patch management, alongside experience in coordinating and implementing data protection and IT  security requirements. Project references or employer confirmations are expected.

• Application Lifecycle Management: At least 5 years of experience in application management and lifecycle management within large-scale IT environments.

• German Language Proficiency: C2 level or equivalent written and spoken German language skills, as evidenced in your CV.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Infrastructure Optimisation: Experience in analysing and optimising IT infrastructures to align with business objectives, supported by at least 5 project references for infrastructure analysis. 

• Compliance & Requirements: Approximately 5 years of proven project experience in requirements analysis and the development and implementation of measures to comply with IT guidelines and legal requirements, demonstrated through project references.

• Project Management: Experience in leading IT sub-projects from inception to completion, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. A minimum of 5 years of project management experience (e.g., through references or certifications) is highly valued.

• Technology Evaluation: Proven experience in evaluating, implementing, and risk-assessing new technological solutions (hardware and software), demonstrated through participation in at least three relevant projects.

• System Integration: Over 5 years of practical experience in integrating and enhancing applications within complex IT system landscapes, supported by project references or employer confirmation.
